1
Start with wet hair that has been shampooed and well conditioned. Let your hair partially air dry to eliminate the frizz.
-
2
Finger comb anti-frizz product through the hair with your fingers to make sure that you distribute it evenly through the hair. Having hair partially dry will eliminate some frizz, but a good anti-frizz product will also help cut down on the snapping of the strands.

-
3
Blow dry the hair with a diffuser to complete the drying process. Try not to touch the hair too much with a brush or your fingers. Allowing the hair to move freely will encourage its natural curl.
-
4
Check the hair to make sure that it is dry all over and then use a large barrel curling iron to define a few big waves in the hair. To do this pick random 1 1/2-inch wide sections of hair and wrap them around the curling iron clockwise. Wrap others in a counterclockwise motion around the iron and alternate as you go. Varying your direction will make more natural looking waves.
-
5
Flip the hair upside down and lightly brush the waves so that they give a bit more volume when you flip right side up.
-
6
Spray your hand with hairspray and smooth your hand over your waves to tame the flyaway strands. Hairspray can contain chemicals that may overpower hair in strong concentrations. Spraying on your hand helps distribute the product evenly, and reduces harm from the chemicals.
