Step 1
Chicago is most known for The Sears Tower aka Willis Tower. You have to visit the Sears Tower Sky Deck. The view from the top is absolutely amazing. Trust me, I remember the view and I've only been there once when I was four years old. On a clear day, you can see four states. Admission is typically $14.95 for adults and $10.50 for ages 3 - 11.
-
Step 2
Next stop is Buckhingham Fountain. It is a spectacular fountain, but I would recomment visiting it at dark because there is a wonderful light display. Also classical music is played to rhythm of the water.
-
Step 3
Chicago is known for its abundancy of museums. A really great museum to visit is the Field Museum. It always has new and interesting exhibits. Here is a list of other amazing museums located in the wonderful city of chicago:
Museum of Science and Industry
Adler Planetarium
Museum of Contemporary Art
Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum( It has a butterfly haven. It's amazing!) -
Step 4
The Shedd Aquarium deserves a step of its own. Its a beautiful museum full of sea creatures from the whole world. There is a spectacular dolphin show that is put on regularly!
-
Step 5
Located in the heart of downtown is Lincoln Park Zoo. This is a great place to take your kids. You should definitely go paddleboating on the Swan-shaped paddleboats. You get a great view of the Chicago sky-line while paddle-boating.
-
Step 6
During the night, definitely go to Navy Pier!! Taking a ride on the ferris wheel will provide another spectacular and romantic view of the skyline. Every Wednesday and Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day, there is a spectacular fireworks show. Also make sure to visit the Imax theatre.
-
Step 7
The best places to go shopping are:
The Watertower Place
Magnificent Mile -
Step 8
During the summer, many people head to the beach. My favorite is North Avenue Beach, but it can get crowded.
-
Step 9
The best place to eat?
GIORDANO'S!!!!!!!
It's famous for the Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza!
