Easy, inexpensive gifts for your child's teachers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on a gift --- Many options here. Gift certificate to Starbucks or a bookstore; homemade cookies/candies/fudge; bubble bath; "spa" set; use MyPublisher or another publishing website and come up with a memory book of the year in the class - include class photos, etc.; soaps; little frame; pretty candle; pretty pen/pencil set; stationery/ notecards/calendar/desk set...be creative! If you have to buy for more than one teacher, this idea is great - buy a large bag of pretty, individually wrapped chocolates or other candy and divide it into smaller, pretty bags - one for each teacher.

  2. Step 2

Go shopping -- try the outlet stores, discount stores, Big Lots, Target, Walmart, Sam's, Costco, Tuesday Morning, etc., etc. If you're making the gift yourself, get moving!

  3. Step 3

When shopping, look for inexpensive, pretty bags for each gift --- the small drawstring ones are beautiful. Another idea -- at Walmart and Michael's, they sell inexpensive brown and white plain little handled gift bags - perfect size for little gifts. Your student can personalize the bag for each teacher.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's not the gift, it's the thought that counts. Teachers will appreciate the thought!

on 5/31/2009 Good article. As a teacher, I concur. I have received a couple of memory books and I love them so much more than a mug that says teacher. Another one is a homemade card with true sentiments!
