Most schools require school books to be covered to avoid them getting any damage. Making your own paper book cover for your school books is a fun project that only takes a few minutes to complete. Here are the steps you need to know to make your own paper book cover this year for school books.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You will need a big brown paper bag that you usually can get when you go grocery shopping. Just ask them to double bag it in paper. This should give you enough to cover your books.

  2. Step 2

Cut the bottom folds off the brown paper bag. This should leave you with one flat brown piece of paper.

  3. Step 3

Lay the paper book cover flat out and place the school book you are about to cover in the middle. Fold the paper book cover to the top of the book and from the bottom. This should leave you with two creases to show the height of the book.

  4. Step 4

Remove the school book and fold the crease all the way down from the top of the book cover and from the bottom so that you are left with a brown paper book cover that is the right height of the book.

  5. Step 5

Place the school book back in the middle of the book cover. Fold from the left side across the book so that the width is now defined for the school book. Flip the book over and fold the book cover over the other side of the school book as well.

  6. Step 6

Take the extra book cover from each side and fold it into the cover of the book using the creases you created with the extra book cover from step three. This should form a snug fit and should work for both sides of the book to secure the cover onto the book itself.

  7. Step 7

Once the book cover is on your school book use tape on the top and bottom to help strengthen the paper and so that it keeps the book cover in place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once the book cover is on your school books you can decorate the book cover with whatever stickers, marker or pen you want to make sure you identify which class the school book is for.
