Make Fairy Wings From Fantasy Film
Make Fairy Wings From Fantasy Film

There are many techniques out there to make fairy wings, here is an easy and fun way of making them with beautiful results!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First pick what color fantasy film you want to use. I usually pick a color depending on my fairy's color scheme. You can buy colored craft wire also to match.

  2. Step 2

Take your craft wire and cut off two longer pieces and two shorter pieces, make sure the two longer are the same size and two shorter are the same size. Bend the end of one of the wires and leave about an inch of wire on the end. (This will be what you use to attach the wings to your fairy)

  3. Step 3

Go ahead and twist one long piece and one short piece together, (just the inch that you left on the end). Repeat for the other side.

  4. Step 4

Take your fantasy film and lay one set of the wires inside and overlap fantasy film over top of it. Make sure that the piece that you twisted is in the bend of the film and the open end is going with the open end of your wings.

  5. Step 5

Once you get it the way you want it, flip up the one side of fantasy film, take your glue and run it along the two wires and then fold your fantasy film back over onto the wires and press. Repeat for the other side.

  6. Step 6

After the glue dries, the fun part! Take your wing in your hand and hold it over the candle, not too close or it will burn and turn black, but you will start to see the film moving and changing, take the candle over the whole outer edge of the wing, try to make both wings as close as possible in shape. The results of beautiful and durable!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make a more detailed pattern with your wires first and then add film.
  • Always work in a well ventilated area.
