If you have kids you are well aware of that time when you see your kids heading to your nicely painted wall to express themselves with crayons. To them it looks like a wonderful giant blank canvas, but to you it looks like a huge mess you will have to clean up. There are a few ways in which you can remove crayon from a wall, just follow the tips in this eHow.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Non-gel toothpast, such as Crest.
  • Baby oil
  • Sponge
  • Cloth
  • Turpentine
  • Baby wipes
  1. Step 1

Use toothpaste. Every household will have some toothpaste, so this is a quick at hand way to remove crayon marks from a wall. You need to use a non-gel toothpaste. Simply rub the mark and wipe the crayon mark off.

  2. Step 2

Use turpentine. Turpentine is another common household item that you can use to remove crayon marks from a wall. If you don't have the right kind of toothpaste, as mentioned above, or it isn't working as you would like try turpentine. Dampen a white clean towel and then dip it in a little turpentine and rub the crayon marks on the wall.

  3. Step 3

Try baby oil or baby wipes. Baby oil and baby wipes are another good crayon removal trick. Simply put some baby oil on a sponge and rub the crayon marks off the wall. Or take a baby wipe and rub off the crayon stain.

  4. Step 4

Paint over the marks. If all else fails and you still have some paint that matches your wall you can use this to clean the crayon marks off.

  5. Step 5

Wash the wall. After using any of the tips above for cleaning crayon from a wall use a clean cloth dipped in a little warm soap water the clean off the treatment. Then pat dry the area.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful not to rub to hard as you only want to clean the crayon from the wall and not the paint.
