How to Do the Face for a Ladybug Costume

Things You'll Need

• Blush or rouge
• Red lipstick
• Eyeshadow in your choice of color
• Mascara

Instructions

1. Apply rouge or blush to your cheeks. Remember that this is a whimsical, cartoonish costume, so your makeup should reflect this. Use a heavy hand when applying the blush, forming a bright pink circle of blush or rouge on the apples of the cheeks.

2. Apply eye shadow to the eyelids, extending up to the brow bones. For children who are wearing a ladybug costume, use a light shimmery shade. An adult lady bug can wear any shade, preferably with a glittery or shimmery effect to it.

3. Apply mascara to the eyelashes. Like ladybugs in children's books, the face for a lady bug costume should have long, thick eyelashes. If you have long eyelashes, the mascara should be enough to achieve the desired look. If your eyelashes are short, straight, and/or sparse, purchase inexpensive false eyelashes to use with your ladybug costume.

4. Use a bright red lipstick to finish the face for a lady bug costume. Concentrate on the center of the lips, making the mouth look full and cartoonish.
