Instructions

    • 1

Select a base for your crystal cake topper. An ideal base is a crystal ashtray turned upside down. Its slightly concave shape is ideal for the top of a cake.

    • 2

Clean the bonding surfaces of your crystal base and your memento.

    • 3

Slightly roughen the bonding surfaces using steel wool.

    • 4

Apply E6000 craft adhesive to both bonding surfaces.

    • 5

Press the memento into the top of the cake base. Leave to dry and cure for 48 hours.

    • 6

Clean up any excess glue by wiping clean with acetone.

Tips & Warnings

  • E6000 is a better choice for bonding your crystal memento to your base than super glue or hot glue because it dries clear and will not yellow with age.

  • Only use glue and acetone in a well-ventilated room.
