How to Make a Wood Crossbow
One of the most popular weapons used through out history for both combat and hunting purposes is the crossbow. Essentially a cross bow is a bow that is shaped similarly to a capitol T and uses a trigger system to shoot the arrow or rod through the air and drive it into its target. While buying one of these pieces of equipment can be expensive, you can make one at home with some wood and other items you have around the house.

1
Use two thin wood boards, one measuring 2 feet in length, the other measuring 3 feet in length. The longer piece of wood will be used as the barrel.
-
2
Take the 2 foot piece of wood and lay it across the end of the longer piece, about an inch from the end. This should form a "T" shape. Use wood screws to secure the pieces together.

3
Drive 2 threaded wood screws down into either end of the cross piece you just attached to the barrel. Make each wood screw about an inch and a half from either end of the board. Leave the nails sticking up slightly.

Cut a rubber band into one long piece and tie one end to one of the nails sticking out of the cross piece. Tie the other end to the other nail on the opposite end of the cross piece. The best type of rubber band to use for this project is a size 117 rubber band. These are thick, stretchy and long lasting.

5
Put a small stick in the middle of your rubber band bow string and pull it back until it is taut. Aim your crossbow at your target and release the string.
