- 4 wire clothes hangers
- 4-6 paper covered wire twist ties

How to make cruiser bicycle fenders

1
Begin by using scissors to cut the tops and bottoms of all bottles and then cut them into equal halves. Unbend the hangers using pliers and straighten them as much as possible.
-
2
Punch a series of holes on the sides of each bottle half, spacing them 4 cm apart. Then take the wire from the paper twist ties and use them to link four of the halves together at the ends. Use wire cutters to trim away the excess.

3
Use an under-and-over pattern to thread the hangers through the holes. Skip holes that are adjoining two halves. (these now should have twist ties in them)
-
4
Attach the fender to your bike. There should be two eyelets close to the axle in the front. Insert the ends of the hanger you used to link the halves. Bend it outward, and then up so that it half-way wraps around the top of your bike. Bend the fender to match the curve of your tire.
-
5
Assemble the rear fender as you did the first using the additional 8 bottle halves. Bend the fender so that it curves. Use the long twist ties to attach the back fender to your bike's frame in as many places as allowable by your frame.

Tips & Warnings
If you bike does not have eyelets for the front fender, use extra twist ties to attach the front as well as the back. You can spray paint the fenders for added style.
