Motorcross boots are essential safety equipment for any rider participating in any type of motorcross action. While it's exciting to get a new pair of boots, they are often stiff, awkward and cumbersome, especially when trying to change gears. Walking around the house in new motorcross boots is one way to break them in, but there are other methods for faster results.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Using an old towel or rag, generously apply mink oil to boots.

  2. Step 2

Place boots in the oven and close the oven door.

  3. Step 3

Turn the oven settings to 150 degrees Fahrenheit to bake.

  4. Step 4

Allow the boots to remain in the oven for at least one hour, but no more than one hour and fifteen minutes.

  5. Step 5

Remove boots from the oven and turn the oven off.

  6. Step 6

Allow boots to cool enough to wear, then put them on and go riding.

Tips & Warnings
  • Walking around in new boots prior to "minking" them will help them break in.
  • Use a timer when boots are placed in the oven. The last thing you want to do is forget about them.
