How to Connect 2 PCs With a USB

Connecting two PCs together can be a very useful. Files can be transferred between the two computers and it can even be used to share an internet connection. One of the best ways to connect two computers is with a bridged USB cable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two PCs
  • Bridged USB cable
  1. Step 1

    Install drivers and software for the cable. Open the packet that came with your bridged USB cable and insert the drivers CD into the first PC. A screen will pop up, asking if you want to install a link mode or a network mode. Choose link mode if you want to copy files from one computer to the other. Choose network mode if you want to share folders and an internet connection.

  2. Step 2

    Repeat Step 1 for the second PC. Make sure that the settings are the same.

  3. Step 3

    Install the USB cable. Connect to USB cable to the first PC. If the drivers were installed correctly, the PC will recognize the cable.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat Step 3 for the second computer.

  5. Step 5

    Connect one end of the USB cable to the first PC and the other end to the second PC. Now the computers are linked.
