Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A new pane of glass
  • Brads, which are small nails
  • Glazing compound
  • Glazing points
  1. Step 1

Use a knife with a stiff blade to pry the wooden stops from the frame.

  2. Step 2

Carefully remove the broken pane from the door.

  3. Step 3

With a knife, scrape away the old glazing compound from around the frame of the window.

  4. Step 4

Use a caulking gun and lay a thick trail of glazing compound where the old one had been.

  5. Step 5

Press the glass into the compound and secure it with glazing points.

  6. Step 6

Nail the brads in each of the wooden stops and put them on the frame, being careful not to hit the glass with your hammer. Make sure the glass is secured by the stops and brads.
