How to Check Minutes on AT&T Cell Phones

Checking minutes on AT&T cell phones is quick and easy.

AT&T Wireless customers who tend to go over their monthly minutes usage can check remaining minutes' balance directly from their cell phones. This service is offered at no additional charge. The balance-check process works with any cell phone.

Instructions

1. Dial "*MIN#" (without the quotes). That number translates to "*646#" on your cell phone. Hit the "Send" button.

2. Wait for a new text message, then open the message.

3. 

   Read the message, and note the "As of" date for the minutes displayed and the "anytime" minutes remaining.

4. Check your minutes a second way by navigating via your phone to AT&T Wireless and logging into the "My Account" link at the top right part of the page. Once you log into the online account, your minutes usage will be displayed.
