How to Make a Chao Transform in Sonic Adventure 2

Chao are small, light blue creatures found in the Sonic Adventure games. They are essentially virtual pets that you can raise and nurture to evolve into different forms, with special abilities and particular character quirks that make them lovable and cute. By raising a Chao in Sonic Adventure 2 you will eventually nurture it to transform into a better looking Chao with physical attributes such as wings, flame breath or a halo.

Instructions

1. Pet your Chao repeatedly. It can either change to a Light class or a Dark class. This is dependent on the character you are playing; either a Hero (Sonic, Knuckles or Tails) or a Villain (Shadow, Rouge or Eggman).

2. Give your Chao the different class of animals. The classes are Red (strength), Green (speed), Purple (flight), Yellow (Swim), Special, Imaginary and Ghost. Whatever animal you give it from one class will determine the different traits it inherits, such as wings, a tail or claws.

3. Ignore the Chaos Drives. These are neon-colored fluids of the same color as the animal class colors. These raise only the raw stats and do not modify the look of your Chao. Use these only if you plan on keep a Chao in its neutral form.

4. Equip masks on your Chao. The three types of masks available are egg shell tops from hatched egg shells; pumpkins from the Hero Garden; and skulls from the Dark Garden. Note that the only two ways of removing the mask is either they grow tired of it or you kick them. Kicking them will lower their affection rating towards you.

5. Play Sonic Adventure 2 on your Dreamcast VMU. If you play often enough, your Chao will find either a normal Chao Fruit, Hero Fruit or Dark Fruit. Feeding it these fruits will transform your Chao into the most advanced forms of Light, Angelic or Devil.
