How to Care for an Above-Ground Pool With Baquacil
Chlorine used to be the primary way of sanitizing pool water until the early 1980s, when a chlorine alternative named Baquacil was developed and introduced into the marketplace. This alternative to harsh chlorine provides safeguards to its customers such as no more red eyes, bleached-out liners and bathing suits and green hair. Most people would prefer to live without those side effects of a pool treated with chlorine, and that is exactly what the folks at Baquacil anticipated. Taking care of a Baquacil pool requires the pool owner to faithfully follow a pretested regime of steps to have a great-looking pool. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions
-
-
1
Use a test strip to determine the alkalinity and calcium hardness levels of your pool.
-
2
Adjust the alkalinity level upward by adding the recommended amount of alkalinity increaser.
-
-
3
Adjust the calcium hardness level upward by adding the recommended amount of calcium hardness increaser.
-
4
Test the water again to insure that both the alkalinity and calcium hardness levels are correct. Check the pH reading on the test strip and adjust the pH either up or down as needed by adding the recommended dosage of either pH increaser or pH decreaser.

Every week make the above adjustments to the pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness and sanitizer.

7
Add the recommended weekly dosage of algaecide, which is a very small amount.

Every month add the shock in the recommended quantity.
