How to Make Your Own Caution and Danger Signs
Traffic signs aren't only useful on the road. Homemade traffic signs can decorate classrooms and children's rooms. It isn't hard and it doesn't cost much to make your own traffic signs.
Things You'll Need
- Square board
- Triangular board
- Yellow paint
- Red paint
- White paint
- Black paint
- Large paintbrush
- Small paintbrush

Caution Sign

Paint the background of your square board yellow. Paint as many layers as it takes for the board to not show through, allowing one layer to dry completely before applying the next.

Paint a thin black border around the outside of the square, about a half inch from the edge.

Turn your square so that it is a diamond and paint the word "caution" across the middle of it.

Let the sign dry completely before hanging it up.
Danger Sign

Paint the background of your triangular board white, applying as many layers as necessary for the board not to show through the paint. Let each layer dry before applying the next.

Paint a thin red border around the edge of the triangle about a half an inch from the edge.

Paint a big black exclamation point in the center of the triangle with the top of the exclamation point beginning near the tip of the triangle and the bottom being near the straight bottom edge of the triangle.

Let the sign dry completely before hanging.
