How to Make a Back Yard Water Slide
For kids, a favorite way for cooling off on a hot summer day is gliding down a water slide. And if you have a back yard with an incline, you don't have to go to a water park and pay an admission price. Making your own water slide is a fairly easy project; your kids will have so fun right at home and they'll be engaging in healthy exercise too. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Roll of 4-ply plastic (about 20 feet by 4.5 feet)
- Plastic stakes
- Hose with sprinkler

Clear the entire area of sticks and stones to protect the plastic from being torn and to ensure a smooth ride.

Unroll the plastic onto the desired inclined area of the yard.

Hold down the plastic by placing the stakes about every 4 feet on each edge.

Pound the stakes so they are completely flush with the ground.

Place the sprinkler hose along the length of the plastic and adjust the spray.

Tips & Warnings
Keep in mind while choosing your water hose that even at an incline, the water should be sprinkling on at least 3/4 of the length.
Stakes must be flush with the ground for safety.
