Step 1
Mix a small amount of gentle soap, like liquid dish soap (not dishwasher detergent, which is harsh, but the liquid dish soap) with water in a container big enough to hold the piece of jewelry. Let it soak for at least 5-10 minutes.

Using a soft toothbrush, gently massage the corners and crevices of the jewelry to get out any dirt. Make sure you get under any stones that are in the piece.

Step 3
Rinse well in cold water. Make sure you get all the soap off, because soap can dry cloudy. It does seem as though using cold water gets the jewelry especially sparkly.

Step 4
Buff and dry gently and completely with a soft, absorbent cloth. I like to use white cloth diapers that I buy for cleaning - they are really soft and lint-free.
