Instructions

    • 1

Take two pieces of your fabric and place them on top of each other with the inside facing in. Place pins so the fabric will not slip.

    • 2
      Profile piece

Cut out a shape as shown in the image. It should look like the profile of your bear. You should now have two pieces of the same shape facing opposite directions.

    • 3
      Center piece

Cut out the center piece of the fabric as shown in the image.

    • 4

Place the two profile pieces and the center piece inside out. Pin the sides of the profile pieces to the center piece as shown. (The second profile piece is not shown in the image, but is pinned on the opposite side in the same manner.)

    • 5

Sew the pieces together along the pin lines. Remove the pins and turn the pieces right side in.

    • 6

Cut out four half-circle pieces to be the ears of your bear. Place two of the pieces together inside out and sew them together. Turn the ear right side in and repeat with the second ear.

    • 7

Sew the ears on the head piece where desired.

    • 8

Sew buttons onto the bear head for eyes and nose.

    • 9

Stuff the head with cotton. The head is now complete.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a pattern to make it easier to get the correct shape for your pieces. There are many free patterns available online.

  • If you are using a thicker fabric, be sure to use a thimble to help push the needle through to avoid injuring your fingers.
