One of the easiest ways of sharing information between two computers is by connecting them with a USB cable. A "bridged" USB cable will allow the two computers to share files, folders, printers and even an Internet connection.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Install the drivers and any software that came with the (bridged) USB cable. Choose a computer on which to start the process and insert the installation CD. A prompt will appear on the screen asking if you want to install a link mode or a network mode. Choose "link mode" if you want to copy files from one computer to the other, and choose "network mode" if you want to share folders and an Internet connection.

  2. Step 2

Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the first computer. If the drivers were installed correctly, the PC will recognize the cable.

  3. Step 3

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on the second computer.

  4. Step 4

Connect the two computers with the USB cable by attaching each end to a USB port. Both computers are now set up.
