Bathroom grout is often overlooked during cleaning time. A quick cleaning wipe down does not fully clean grout because the grout sits lower than the surrounding tiles. Special attention to grout surfaces is needed during cleaning to keep grout new looking. Clean grout helps a bathroom look new and fresh. Regular cleaning helps to prevent stains and makes grout cleaning less of a chore.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Grout cleaner
  • Toothbrush
  1. Step 1

Choose a bathroom grout cleaner. Commercial cleaning preparations are available at stores that sell cleaning supplies. Suitable commercial cleaning preparations for bathroom grout include general purpose bathroom cleaners and cleaners marketed specifically for bathroom grout. If you want to use a cheaper and environmentally friendly bathroom grout cleaner, use white vinegar, 3 percent hydrogen peroxide or baking soda.

  2. Step 2

Apply grout cleaner to bathroom grout. If the grout is stained, leave the cleaner on the grout for two to five minutes before scrubbing.

Scrub the grout with a toothbrush.

  4. Step 4

Rinse the bathroom grout cleaner off of the grout.

  5. Step 5
