Instructions

    • 1

Remove the screens from the window frames. Many screens come out from the inside of the house. Raise the interior window. Located at the bottom of each screen there are two latches. Push the latches towards the center of the screen. While holding the latches in, pull in on the bottom of the screen. The screen will come loose from the window frame.

    • 2

Set the saw horses up in the yard. Place the two boards across the saw horses. Lay several screens on the boards.

    • 3

Fill the bucket with warm soapy water. Use the soft bristle brush to gently wash the screens. Do not apply pressure. Too much pressure with the brush will create holes in the screen.

    • 4

Use the garden hose without a spray nozzle. Turn the water on enough to allow water to flow out of the hose.

    • 5

Rinse the screens. Set the screens up against the house to dry. You can also lay them on a deck or porch.

    • 6

Reinstall the screens back into the window frames. The screens will go back in the same way that they came out. When you have the screen set back into the frame, push the two bottom latches towards the center of the screen and push the bottom of the screen back into the frame. Release the latches and the screen will be locked back into place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some screens do not have latches on the interior side holding them in place. These screens will have metal clips. These clips will be located on the top and the bottom of the screen. Pull down on the clips and at the same time push out on the screen. The screen will come out of the frame from the outside.
