How to Use the Blackberry Messenger

      Click on the messenger program from your BlackBerry phone. Depending on your model, it may be located on the phone's main window. Log in with your display name and password. If you do not have them, create a display name and password, then log in.

      Click the track wheel on the contacts screen to add a contact . Click the contact tab, then click the "Use Once" option. Click the request by email or pin tab.

      Type in the email address or pin for your contact, then press "Enter." Add a message if you wish, then press "OK." Press "OK" again.

      Click on the contact with your trackball, then click the "Delete" tab to delete a contact. Click the "Delete" button to confirm.

      Click the contact you want on your contact screen with your track wheel, then click on the "Start a conversation" tab to begin messaging. Click the "Invite" button during a conversation to start a conference with additional users.

      Click the track wheel on your contact list, then change your status by selecting the "Unavailable" option if you do not want anyone to see that you are online, or the "Available" option to let everyone know that you are online.

      Click the profile for which you want to set a notification on your contact screen. Click the "Edit" tab, then select the notification option.

      Click the "Edit" button, then choose your desired notification options. Click the track wheel, then click "Save" to save your preference. You will be notified of your contact's online presence by the sound chosen.
