Make a Turkey Call Out of Paper

Making a turkey call with a simple strip of paper is a cheap, easy and fun way to entertain children or attract wild turkeys to your hunting spot. With a little practice, you can mimic a variety of wild turkey calls.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Single sheet of regular paper
  1. Step 1

Measure and cut a strip of paper 4 inches long by 1/2 inch wide.

  2. Step 2

Place your hands together palm-to-palm with your thumbs touching. A small gap between the middle of your thumbs should appear.

  3. Step 3

Position the paper vertically between your thumbs. Secure the top of the paper with the top of your thumbs and the bottom of the paper with palms below. Press your thumbs together tightly.

  4. Step 4

Put your mouth in the gap between your thumbs and blow through it. The paper should act like a reed on an instrument and begin to make noise.

  5. Step 5

Practice. By using a combination of short or long puffs of air as you blow through your thumbs, you can adjust the rhythm and make different turkey calls.
