How to Unbond Hot Glue
Hot glue guns come in handy when you are creating various arts and crafts. The hot glue can also fix a broken statue or glue two pieces of fabric together. The hot glue holds much better than the traditional white school glue and also hardens five times faster. The only problem with hot glue is unbinding it when you accidentally get glue where you didn't intend to.

1
Use a blow dryer to slowly heat the glue back up. As it heats, it will be easy to separate. Just pull the two pieces apart.
-
2
Stick a cotton swab in a bottle of acetone and keep applying it to the glue spot. Acetone is found in nail polish removers so if you have some, try that. After a few applications of the acetone, you should be able to separate the two items that were bonded together.

3
Apply Goo Gone (see Resources) to the glue with a cotton swab. After a few applications you should be able to pull the glue apart.

4
Place an old cotton rag over top of the hot glue. Turn your iron on low heat and rub it over the cotton rag. The glue will separate as it melts and cling to the old rag. This is a great way to remove glue that accidentally got on fabric.

5
Place the items that got bonded together in the freezer. Once the glue is frozen, remove them. You can now scrape the glue off.

Tips & Warnings
Rub an ice cube over the glue spot instead of sticking the items in the freezer.
Be careful when using a hot glue gun. The temperature the glue heats to is high enough to cause a burn.
