Cans of Play-Doh

Children love to roll, smash, squish and create things out of Play-Doh. It comes in a variety of colors and inspires young creative minds. Play-Doh is such a popular toy, around 95 million cans are sold in 75 countries each year. Sometimes, however, children leave the Play-Doh out overnight, or their little fingers do not get the lid on tightly. Then the Play-Doh becomes dry, crumbly and hard to manipulate. Instead of throwing it away, you can bring that dried-out Play-Doh back to life.

Instructions

  1. How to Make Play-Doh Soft Again

    • 1

Add a few drops of water to the partially dried-out Play-Doh.

    • 2

Knead the water into the dough. Work it with your fingers until the water is worked into the dough.

    • 3

If the dough is still not soft, add more drops of water until you obtain the desired level of softness.

    • 4

If your child does not want to play with the Play-Doh right away, wrap the Play-Doh in a wet paper towel. Put it back into the sealed container overnight.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to keep your Play-Doh soft, store it with the lid tightly sealed. If your children do not play with the Play-Doh frequently, add a few drops of water into the container before you put it away, and it will be absorbed before the next use.
