Copying your BlackBerry contacts list doesn't take long.

Whether you are upgrading your phone or just backing up your contact list, copying your contact list from your BlackBerry is useful. Using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager that came bundled with your device, you an easily copy the contacts list from your BlackBerry.

Instructions

      Install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. If you've misplaced the CD, you can download it directly from the BlackBerry website.

      Connect your phone to your computer using a standard-size mini-USB cord. The Desktop Manager should launch automatically.

      Click on the "Backup and Restore" tab in the BlackBerry desktop management software. Then click on "Advanced Options."

      Click on the contact list, then select the backup option. The contact list has now been copied to your computer's hard drive, and you can store it or transfer it to another BlackBerry device.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're trying to copy your contacts and import them to another smart phone, you'll need to do a "SIM copy," which can be performed only by an authorized carrier representative.
