How to Setup Email Groups with Mozilla Thunderbird

Thunderbird is the open-source email application designed by Mozilla, makers of the Firefox browser. This application allows users to create email groups from its contact lists and store the groups in address books. Users can use the email groups to send mass mailings of emails, newsletters and updates.

Instructions

      Click "Tools" on the main menu bar and choose "Address Book."

      Click "File" on the tool bar and choose "New." Select "Mailing List." A dialogue box will open.

      Click the drop-down menu and choose an address book in which to store the email group. Type in a name for the email group.

      Drag names from the contact list on the right-hand side of the page and drop them into the email group's address book dialogue box. If adding a new contact, type the contact's name and email address into the dialogue box.

      Click "OK" to close the dialogue box when you have finished adding contacts to the email group.
