Things You'll Need:
- 2-inch-wide duct tape (3 colors)
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Cut six 6-inch-long strips from two colors of duct tape. You will have 12 6-inch strips. Lay the strips sticky side up. Cut 12 more strips exactly the same, but as you cut them, place each one on top of another strip lying sticky side up. You will now have 12 double-sided strips of duct tape measuring 6-inches each.
-
Step 2
Cut four 10-inch-long strips of duct tape, two in each color that you used in Step 1. Lay them sticky side up. Cut four more 10-inch long strips and make double-sided strips as you did in Step 1.
-
Step 3
Alternate five of the 6-inch long double sided strips in a vertical row so that the edges are touching. Make sure that the ends are flush. Cut a 7-inch-long strip of duct tape from the third color you have not yet used. Place it sticky side down on top of the two top strips, centering the line where the two strips meet and leaving ½ inch on each end. Fold over the ends to the backside of the two strips. Repeat this process until all five strips are joined together. This is the front of your bag.
-
Step 4
Repeat Step 3 to make the back of your bag.
-
Step 5
Lay two of the 10-inch-long strips of duct tape side by side so the edges are touching. Cut an 11-inch strip of the third color of duct tape and secure the two pieces together by centering the adhesive strip over the line where the edges meet. Fold the excess over to the back of your strips. This is one of the sides for your bag. Repeat this step to make the other side of your bag.
-
Step 6
Cut one 11-inch section of the third color of duct tape. Lay it sticky side up on a flat surface. Place the front of the bag you made in Step 3 on top of one-half of the sticky side of tape so that the 10-inch vertical length of the side is on the tape. Leave ½ inch at the top and the bottom. Place one of your 10-inch long sides perpendicular to the edge of the front of your bag. Fold the duct tape over to secure the front and the side together.
-
Step 7
Repeat Step 6 to make the other half of your bag. Join the two halves together with duct tape to make the shape of your bag.
-
Step 8
Attach the two remaining 6-inch strips together in the center to form a 4-inch bottom for your bag. Attach the bottom to the bag with duct tape, just as you secured the sides together.
