How to Change Icon Size in Windows Vista

The icons that represent programs and documents on your computer's desktop make finding exactly what you're looking for much quicker. The default size of Windows icons might not be the size that you prefer. The size can be changed in Windows Vista in less than a minute.

      Right-click your mouse on your Windows Vista desktop. Hover your cursor over "View" in the drop-down menu that pops up. A second menu panel will open.

      Click the size option that best meets your needs. You may wish to take a moment to look at the size of each option ("Large," "Medium" and "Classic") in order to determine which icon size best suits your preferences.

      Open "My Computer" and right-click in the window that opens in order to adjust the icon sizes there as well. There are several different viewing options available in "My Computer," allowing you to view a list of file details in addition to being able to choose icons of different sizes. Different folders may require you to set your viewing preferences for each.
