Instructions

    • 1

Attach picture wire to the back of your painting. Cut a length of wire to fit the painting side to side from the inside edge of the frame. Add 4 inches to the overall length to account for wrapping the wire around the screws. Place your painting face down. Insert one screw on each side of the frame at the edge of the painting. Wrap one end of the wire securely around one screw and then around the other. End each wrapping with a knot.

Determine the exact location to install the brick hooks to hang your painting on the wall. Smaller paintings may be placed on one hook, but larger paintings need two hooks to keep them balanced. For one hook, mark the spot to insert the hook on the mortar joint between the bricks. For two hooks, place one hook 3 to 6 inches from either edge of the frame. Measure the distance between the hook placement on your painting, and mark two corresponding spots on the mortar line for the hooks.

    • 3

Place your hooks on the wall where you made the marks in Step 2. Mark two spots for the screws. Remove the hook.

    • 4

Drill pilot holes on the spots you made in Step 3 at a 45-degree angle with a 1/8 masonry drill bit.

    • 5

Place the hooks back onto the brick wall so that the pilot holes are visible through the holes on the brick hooks. Insert the nails included with your brick hooks with a hammer.
      Hang your painting.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drill only into the mortar line, because the brick may break.
