If you have a glove without its mate, you can put it to a new use as a colorful craft. By making an animal glove puppet, you can add an inexpensive toy to the toy box that also encourages creative play. Choose animals from a favorite story or follow a theme, such as jungle animals, to make the puppet even more enjoyable. The best part of making a this puppet from a glove is that it gives you five puppets in one.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Glue a pom-pom to the tip of each finger of the glove and allow to dry for 10 minutes. Use pom-poms in colors that will coincide with the animal that you are making.

  2. Step 2

Cut the eyes, nose, ears and mouth of each animal out of felt. Draw any details, such as pupils, onto the felt pieces with your fabric markers.

  3. Step 3

Glue the face pieces onto the pom-pom that goes with each animal. Allow the glue to dry for at least 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Cut out arms for each animal and glue to the side of each finger under the pom-pom. Use additional felt pieces or fabric markers to add any other details, such as stripes or spots. Once the glue is dry, the puppets are ready for play.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have an adult cut out the pieces so that a child can assemble it.
  • Sew on the felt and pom-pom if giving to a small child to avoid choking hazards.
