How to Redeem iTunes Cards

Using gift cards from iTunes is a convenient way to buy music and other items online from the iTunes store. The cards make great gifts for people of all ages, and they can also serve parents who want to put a limit on their children's iTunes purchasing power. These cards can be found in a variety of denominations at grocery, retail and convenience stores across the country, and they are easy to redeem online.

  1. Step 1

    Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/, and download iTunes onto your computer if you do not already have it.

  2. Step 2

    Open iTunes, and click on "iTunes Store" on the left side of the screen.

  3. Step 3

    Go to the "Quick Links" window on the right side of the screen, and click "Redeem."

  4. Step 4

    Enter the code printed on the back of your iTunes card into the space provided, and click "Redeem." This will credit your iTunes account with the amount of money on the card.

  5. Step 5

    Purchase items from the iTunes store against the balance of your card.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is important to keep track of your card balance, because if you exceed the amount on your card, the credit or debit card attached to your iTunes account will be charged the excess.
