Step 1
Adam started young, singing in his middle and high school choir. He also participated in theater and landed his first stage role at age 10 in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The earlier you start singing, the better chance you have at becoming great. Vocal lessons from school choir teachers are free and singing in public will prepare you for future performances.

Step 2
Keep on keep'n on. Adam has been performing in various theaters and caberets since graduating high school. This continued practice, including The Ten Commandments: The Musical with Val Kilmer, certainly helped when Adam has to perform in front of huge American Idol crowds with millions watching at home.

Step 3
Be yourself. Adam has been so successful on American Idol because he stays true to himself. His song choices always fit his style and range so he sounds natural and never strains. When choosing songs, keep in mind your tone, range and personal style. Are you more Madonna or Jonny Cash? Remembering these things will help you sound the best when you sing.
