1. Always use the owl pellets that have been fumigated

2. Owl pellets come various sizes but the best ones are that which are jumbo sized as that are likely to contain a lot of information about the bone structure of the animal that has been eaten by the owl.

3. Use tweezers or the wooden probes to dissect the pellets.

4. Use paper plates to keep the bones

5. Always use the bone chart along side to identify the bones that are there in the pellet. This helps in easy identification.

6. Use the bone structure to compare with the human skeletal structure.

7. Always buy from a reputed company as the likelihood of bones being broken is very high and hence it is better to have good pellet from a good company.
