How to Make Spinach and Artichoke Dip

User-Submitted Article

I love having my friends over for movie or game night and when I do I usually make some simple snacks. My favorite snack to make is always Spinach and Artichoke Dip. It's easy to make and you can put this recipe together ahead of time and refrigerate serving. Just pop it in the oven, and it comes out all hot and bubbly. Who doesn't love melted cheese! Follow these easy steps below.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 9 oz. package artichoke hearts (drained jarred or canned, cooked fresh, or frozen, not marinated)
  • 1 cup steamed spinach (1 lb. raw or one 10 oz. package frozen chopped spinach, thawed), drained and water squeezed out
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 6 large fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. 1

First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  2. 2

Second, grease an 8X8 (or 9X9, which ever is available) baking dish.

  3. 3

Third, in a food processor, mix together the cream cheese, artichoke hearts, spinach, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Spoon the mixture into the baking dish and cover with the mozzarella. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

  4. 4

Let it cool slightly before serving. You can serve the spinach and artichoke dip with crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted french bread.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can easily double (or triple) this recipe for a larger party or family picnic.
  • Be careful not to burn yourself! It will be very hot coming out of the oven.
