    Firewire

First you need to hook up the firewire. You can purchase one at any electronics store or department for a few dollars. Insert one end into the computer and one into the video camera.

  2. Step 2

Insert the video tape into the camera and rewind to the beginning (or wherever you want to start the transfer).

  3. Step 3

Using Windows Movie Maker or some other movie maker on your computer, upload the movie to the computer. It should play automatically after clicking "Transfer video".

  4. Step 4

Once the video is uploaded to your computer, you'll be able to transfer it to a DVD or upload to an online server. Either way your precious memories will be preserved for years and years.

Tips & Warnings
  • Send out copies of your movies to family members for safe-keeping and wonderful gifts!
  • Make sure the whole video has uploaded to the computer before deleting from the cassette.
