How to Burn an ISO Image With ImgBurn

An ISO image is a raw snapshot of a CD or DVD.

ImgBurn is a freeware application that can be used to rip a CD or DVD. In addition, you can use ImgBurn to burn an ISO image to a disc. An ISO is simply a raw snapshot of a CD or DVD. Once you've ripped an ISO image from your media, it can be stored on your computer or burned to a CD or DVD to create a backup image.

Things You'll Need

• ImgBurn installed
• ISO image
• CD/DVD burner
• Blank CD or DVD

Instructions

1. Insert a blank CD or DVD into your computer's optical drive and then launch the ImgBurn application.

2. Click on "Write Image File to Disc."

3. Click on the folder icon, which is a "+" symbol. Browse your computer for the ISO image you want to burn. Once you locate the file, click on it once to select it.

4. Click on the large icon at the bottom of the window. ImgBurn will burn the ISO image to your CD or DVD.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure your ISO image will fit on your blank media. You can burn a CD to another CD or a DVD, but a DVD ISO is likely too large to fit on a CD. ImgBurn will let you know whether the ISO image can be burned to the media you've provided.
