Things You'll Need:
- A moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner
- A liquid Shine or a cream like hair oil
- A really hot flat iron or curling iron
-
Step 1
When having naturally curly hair you can have a few too many bad hair days. Believe it or not, you are a fortunate individual to have a healthy head of hair. There are people who would go blind in order to have your hair. All you have to do is get smart about the hair that has it's own mind.
My rule of thumb is too never blow dry your hair, unless you have a professional who is doing your hair at a salon who can tame your hair. You will get so frustrated all by yourself. I don't care if you are professional yourself, I'm telling you what's good for your health, believe me grown women have tantrums too. Shampoo and Condition your hair at night. If it's long braid it to where it can dry efficently befor you wake up, if you just free for all it, you're gonna be mad. When hair drys in a position, pretty much that's how it will be until water hits it agian. -
Step 2
Don't skip or skimp, on the conditioner or the quality, it makes a big diffrence. The better the shampoo and conditioner, the less fight you have with your hair. When you wash your hair and blow dry it , it drys out the moisture and most times people leave their cuticle open after drying which allows the environment to be welcomed in your hair shaft. If you're showering, shampoo first, rinse and put plenty of conditioner on, wash your body, shave you legs, sing a song, whatever your routine is let the conditioner marinate for a bit. Rinse and don't rinse it squeeky clean, rinse enough that your hair won';t be chalky, but it will feel slighty slimy which still leaves some moisture in the hair.

Step 3
White hair and black hair are diffrent but the same. We all have the same challenges and we want to be able to maintain our lucious lockes but diffrent in the respect, some like the slight feel of the moisture in their hair and some think it maybe too greasy. That problem is purely individual. Get a shine serum or get a cream base moisturizer, not a petroleum base because your hair will not move at all with that heavy cooking oil in your hair. That grease is good for braids and hair that is in a updo but not one who wears their hair down.

Step 4
Get a hot flat iron or curling iron. You can't just pick any, there is a science to beauty I tell ya. For irons, go with the Ceramic because it holds lots of heat. Now there is a new product called Termaline which is still quite expensive because it's still new. When getting a new iron, curling or flat, you have to personally the heat for your own hair. Believe me I know, don't get excited with new irons without testing it slowly on your hair because after it sits for a while, you put that on your hair and watch you hair sizzle right off before you can say "Baldy".
-
Step 5
Use product, don't be afraid of product. Product is for you to use to cure those problems. For best results, layer them. Spritz is a styling spray that you use during hot ironing. If you like hair spray, that's an after the style in complete. Shine is largely a heat protectant which will protect hair from extra heat damage. Believe it or not, dirty hair is good hair. You have to figure out how dirty it can get before you can't take it anymore.
Some people with chemically processed hair needs to wear a head scarf at night to prevent breakage while sleeping.
