Eczema is mainly an incurable skin dryness problem, but there are ways to maintain your skin challenges that will still allow you to appear to have clear skin.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cortisone cream, preferably 2.5%
  • Aquaphillac cream
  • non scented soap
  1. Step 1

So you might notice a few dry patches on your skin. Most times it is Eczema. Eczema is something that you probaly will have to deal with for the reat of your life. Some people have severe to mild cases. The best solution is to be proactive in maintaining any flare ups that you might have.

  2. Step 2

Most women want the smell good soaps and perfumes, but you might have to learn how to tweek it or stop it all together and just settle for smelling like plain air. Non scented soaps are your best line of defense, because just by taking a bath/shower can and will dry out your skin and you don't need that extra annoyance to your skin. You want to avoid taking a bath everyday if you can help it, if it's a baby with this skin problem try once a week unless needed. Wet wipes work wonders or a bird bath.

  3. Step 3

Immediately after bathing you would need to add moisture to your skin, because your skin will be more receptive to the moisture after being wet. The best cream I've found is a non scented, heavy cream called Aquaphillac. It is pricey but last for light years. You can find this cream in the pharmacy section of Walmart, Target or your local grocer. The price is about $8-10 but well worth it.

  4. Step 4

The best way to execute those dry patches are to do a feel test. run your fingers across you body and if it feels rough add cortisone cream to that spot before doing the Aquaphillac, if you put the Aquaphillac cream on before the cortisone cream it will just sit idol because that Aqualphillac is heavy and is a type of rain coat to the skin close after applying. You can purchase cortizone cream at the drug store at a 1% but the most effective way to zap the dryness quickly is to get a perscription for 2.5% from your doctor. If you stay on top of the maintainence of your skin, this too will last you a while.

  5. Step 5

When treating a dry patch with the 2.5%, do it twice daily until it is gone. Aquaphillac needs to be applied twice daily as well, to keep skin's moisture. With perfume, you will just have to find out where you can spray it and it not effect your skin. Eczema can also have the apperance of a ringworm at times, the only way to self diagnose that is to put cortisone cream on it for a few days, if it gets worse, it is ringworm and you eed to see your doctor. If it slightly drys up than it's just a bout of eczema.

  6. Step 6

If you are a victim of Eczema on your face, sometimes you might have the appearance of acne or bumps. Sometimes those are a sign that your face is dehydrated and just rub the cortisone cream on first and then Aquaphillac and after a few applications, you should be all pretty agian.
