Step 1
They tell you there is a curse on you.
A Tarot Card Reader or Psychic should never tell you that you have a curse on you or some kind of dark sinister energy around you that only they can get rid of for a certain price. This is one of the biggest scams in the book and has caused thousands of people thousands of dollars. If you hear anything like this – run for the hills! -
Step 2
They tell you that a charm you buy from them will keep you safe.
This falls into the same catagory as above. It is one thing if they have a display that you can peruse with the option to buy, but if they tell you that it is the only thing that will keep you safe or happy don't fall for it. -
Step 3
They can give you winning lottery numbers.
Another scam. Quite simple, if they knew the numbers, they would simply play them themselves and then they could do your reading for free. -
Step 4
They tell you what decision to make.
A legitimate psychic or tarot card reader would never tell you what decision to make. They would only read the options they feel might surround you and your situation.
When you leave the session you should simply be feeling more empowered to make the decision for yourself, not compelled to follow their advice or be doomed. -
Step 5
They tell you that they can make something happen for you.
Quite simply, due to the free will of every human only you can make something happen for you. -
Step 6
They tell you they are willing to put a curse on someone else or that they can make another person do what you want them to do.
Again free-will comes into play here. Just as you can’t make someone do what they don’t want to do, neither can a psychic or tarot card reader. Besides, having bad will or wanting to put a curse on someone else just brings bad karma. Remember what goes around, comes around.
A true psychic or reader knows this and wouldn't even offer it as an option. -
Step 7
They act like they know it all or have all the answers.
Watch out for the egotistical know-it-all psychic. The one who seems to act superior to you or acts like they know better than you do. For example, if they were to say something that hit a chord with you and you said “You know, you may be right,” and they respond with an “Of coarse I’m right!” it’s time to look for someone else.
A person with true spiritual or psychic abilities has no reason to be condescending or intimidating towards you, because a true talent knows they have nothing to prove.
Also, a truly gifted person will be the first to tell you that they don’t always have all of the answers all of the time. -
Step 8
If your gut tells you something is not right.
You should leave a reader feeling more empowered than when you arrived. Trust your instincts. If the reading didn't feel "right" to you chances are that person is not the reader for you.
