Things You'll Need:
- For body hair, an epilator such as the Remington Essentials.
- For eyebrows, a single rotor epilator such as the Emjor Tweeze.
- Amazon has a good selection of epilators.
-
Step 1
Plucking eyebrows with tweezers takes forever. A much quicker way to pluck is with an epilator such as the Emjor Tweeze. This epilator has a single rotor which makes it easier to control along the brow line.
-
Step 2
These epilators have rotors that close on the hair as they pass by and then open to discard the plucked hair as they continue the rotation.
This type of epilator is much less painful than older types and do a fine job of removing hair -
Step 3
When plucking eyebrows with a single rotor device, be careful not to get too close to the brow line. Come close to the brow with the epilator and then use good tweezers to finish shaping your brow. I like the Revlon Diamond tweezers as they grip well.
Why use an epilator if you have to finish with tweezers? Because the epilator is fast!
I have rather heavy eyebrows and doing the "rough pluck" with my Emjor Tweeze and then finishing with tweezers saves me a huge amount of time. -
Step 4
For other body hair, such as legs, a multi rotor epilator like the Remington Essentials will remove hair quickly over a large area.
This type of epilator is not practical for fine work, such as plucking eyebrows. -
Step 5
To do the best work with an epilator, first clean your skin and dry it thoroughly before plucking.
-
Step 6
Cleaning. The epilator head may be removed and rinsed under running water.
It is not recommended, but I rinse my Emjor Tweeze under running water without removing the head. I do it CAREFULLY so as not to get water inside the body of the unit.

on 6/18/2009 I often wondered how epilaors work and now I know, but am wondering if it hurts?

on 5/14/2009 Try the single rotor epilator first to see if it is OK for you. This one costs less than $20. Just be sure not to come too close to your brow line until you get some skill in using it.Heather
