How to Hypnotize With a Coin

Hypnotism is the art of essentially controlling someone's mind. It has been done for centuries by many people. It has been used for many purposes, from comedy to curing sickness and mental disorders and even addictions. One method of hypnosis involves using a coin.

1. Hold the coin in front of your subject. Ask your subject to focus on the coin and stare at it. Ask the person to allow all thoughts in his mind to relax and to stare deep inside the coin.

2. Instruct your subject to allow herself to become more deeply relaxed. Ask her to focus on your voice and take deep, slow breaths. At this point, your subject's eyes should slowly droop and close, and limbs should be feeling heavy.

3. Begin to count backward from 10. Each number should represent a new state of relaxation, such as deeper breathing, heavier limbs. The subject should be focused only on your voice.

4. Suggest that your subject perform an action on your keyword. For example, "When I say 'I am John Doe,' you will act like a chicken." Then, let him relax a little more. When you say the key word or phrase, the subject should respond.

5. Wake up your subject. Do this by counting from one to 10, much like Step 3 with each number lifting a layer of sleep. Count slowly and allow the person to come back into consciousness.
