      Pull back your hair to reveal your cheekbones. Either clip it, tie it or use a large headband to hold the hair away from your face. Smile wide into the mirror to show the apples of your cheeks.

      Use your fingers to feel around your cheek until you have found the most prominent part of your cheekbone. Usually, this will be slightly below the apples of your cheeks, about half an inch away from your nose.

      Dip your brush gently into the blush and tap off excess. Starting from the part of your cheekbones you located in Step 2, sweep the blush in a slight arc toward your hairline. Stop about an inch from your hairline.

      Repeat on the alternate cheek and you're done. This method of applying blush emphasizes the natural high cheekbones on oval faces.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get a brush that is about 5 inches long with soft but thick bristles. The brushes that usually come packaged with blush are too small to work properly.
