How to Clean Up the Mac Desktop
The Finder command can automatically clean the Mac computer desktop if it's cluttered with various files. The Mac desktop cleanup will arrange all of your files in a grid structure and then position them alphabetically.

Click anywhere on the desktop of your Mac to switch to the Finder.

Open the "View" menu at the top of the screen.

Choose the "Clean Up" option. The computer will now tile all of your files into a grid format and arrange them alphabetically.

Open the "View" menu again and browse the options in the "Arrange By" section.

Choose one of the "Arrange By" options to change the way that the desktop is organized. Items can be organized by name, date, size and type of file.
