How to Moisturize Really Dry Hair With Mayo
There are foods in your kitchen that can be used for things other than cooking. For example, lemons and vinegar are used as natural cleaning agents. Olive oil is used to add shine to the hair, and mayonnaise--yup, that creamy stuff that is used for sandwiches--is known to strengthen and moisturize hair follicles. Does this Spark an idea?

Wash the hair thoroughly. Depending on your hair type, specific shampoo may be required. For example, if you have problems with dandruff and dry scalp, use a shampoo that contains tea tree oil. If your hair is easily tangled, a detangling shampoo may be best.

After washing the hair, make sure the hair is moist. If the hair begins to dry, spray it down with water until it is fully wet.

Take 2 to 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise and massage it into the hair and scalp (the brand does not matter; however, it may be beneficial to look into an all-natural mayonnaise to avoid putting chemicals into the hair).

After massaging the mayonnaise into the hair moving from the base to the ends, comb the mayonnaise conditioner through the hair using a wide-tooth comb. If you have a lot of hair, you may have to add some more mayonnaise.

Place a plastic shower cap over the hair and condition for 30 to 45 minutes. For best results, put the conditioner in the hair and sleep with the mayonnaise in the hair overnight.

Wash out the mayonnaise conditioner and style as desired.

Tips & Warnings
For a faster drying conditioning treatment, sit under a dryer with the conditioner on for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Wash the conditioner out after drying. For those who aren't thrilled with the idea of using a product from the refrigerator on the hair, purchase mayonnaise-based protein conditioners instead of using regular kitchen mayo.
