How to Stream NFL Games

NFL fans can be ravenous when it comes to watching their favorite teams compete. Unfortunately finding games online can sometimes be difficult, if not outright illegal. For those in the U.S., the choice often involves hardware programs such as Slingbox and the help of a friend. International NFL fans, however, can take advantage of the NFL website and its program called Game Pass to watch their favorite teams in action.

Instructions

  1. Streaming NFL Games Internationally

    • 1

If you're located outside of the U.S. or Canada, log onto the official NFL website. Hover over the link at the top of the page titled NFL Anytime and click Game Pass.

    • 2

Choose the Sign Up Now link on the page that loads. The first option gives you high-definition regular season games. The second option is available right before playoff season for an additional cost. For the regular season, choose Game Pass HD.

    • 3

Enter your credit card information to pay for the Game Pass option. You will be asked where you are located, as Game Pass is only available outside of regularly broadcast NFL game areas.

    • 4

Try the Demo option before proceeding if you want to test the video quality and overall options of Game Pass.

    Streaming Games Within North America

    • 5

Purchase a SlingBox device or find someone within the broadcast area that has a DVR service from their cable or satellite company. Set the game to record to the device as you would with any other television show.

    • 6

Connect via a broadband connection to the Slingbox controlled DVR. The instructions to make this connection come with your Slingbox device.

    • 7

Choose the game you want to stream based on the available DVR titles found on the recording device. You can now enjoy watching the game.

    • 8

Disconnect from the Slingbox when you are done viewing. The game will remain on your DVR until it is deleted.

Tips & Warnings

  • According to NFL.com "NFL Game Pass HD is not available in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, Antigua, the Bahamas and any U.S. territories, possessions and commonwealths (including American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)." Furthermore, buying the rights from other individuals to watch NFL games from Slingbox devices may be in violation of NFL redistribution rights, as only the NFL can profit from the broadcasts of its games. Use the Slingbox option only if you are NOT paying for the rights to watch the games.
