How to Download Music From a Sony Mini Disc
Downloading music from a mini-disc player to your computer allows you to save your own recordings on the hard drive. It's a straightforward process if you have the cord that came with your player.

Install Sonic Stage, the software that came with your Sony mini-disc player.

Attach the small end of the cord (provided with the device) to the side of the mini-disc player. Plug the large end of the cord into a USB port on your computer.

Open Sonic Stage. The left side of the screen shows the songs on your computer. The right side of the screen shows the music on your mini-disc player.

Click the "Transfer" button, located at the top of the screen.

Select the track(s) you want to download. Click on the left arrow to download the songs to your computer.

Tips & Warnings
If your tracks don't appear on the right side of the screen when you open Sonic Stage, choose your device from the drop-down menu above the "Transfer" button.
Plug in the mini-disc player before you open Sonic Stage.
Windows Media Player doesn't usually recognize Sony mini-disc players; install the software included with the devise.
