Step 1
Locate the front of your Warnock Hersey gas fireplace and look at the logs. If the logs are labeled as vent free, then you can move along to the next step. If the logs require venting, open the damper by flipping down the lever on the side of the fireplace that opens the vent.
-
Step 2
Open the glass or metal doors that are enclosing the fireplace. This gives you access to your Warnock Hersey gas fireplace's interior. Make sure there are no items in or around the fireplace that should not be there, especially items that could potentially catch fire.
-
Step 3
Find the ignition and flame controls on your Warnock Hersey gas fireplace. The igniter is a button on the actual fireplace unit. The flame control is a knob that you will be able to turn clockwise and counterclockwise, depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the flame.
-
Step 4
Turn down the flame-control knob to the lowest setting but not completely off. Set the igniter to "ignite" and press the ignition button. You will see a small flame spark.
-
Step 5
Adjust the size of your flame on the Warnock Hersey gas fireplace using the flame-control knob. This allows you to adjust the flame size to your liking.
-
Step 6
Light your Warnock Hersey gas fireplace manually if your igniter button is not working. Turn the flame control to low, light your match and bring the flame to the igniter. After it sparks, adjust the flame size to your liking.
